Equestrian Model

My name is Amelie Dunn, a rider whose passion for horses has grown through years of riding and learning. I started riding nearly five years ago, and since then this sport has shaped me into the best version of myself. I began with beginner dressage and fundamental lessons, but as I progressed my focus shifted toward jumping, where I have found my true strength and passion. What I love most about this sport is the horses themselves and the ability to communicate with them without words. In most situations, people describe communication as something spoken, but horses have taught me that it is so much more than that. Shortly after my fourteenth birthday, I bought my horse, Max. Unfortunately, for reasons no veterinarian was able to determine, he developed tendinitis and required surgery followed by a long recovery process. While caring for Max during his rehab, I wondered how I would continue my own riding. Fortunately, my instructor brought a new horse, Romeo,  into his program and gave me the opportunity to get to know him and help train him. Since I began riding Romeo, I have been able to work with him closely and grow as a rider in so many ways. I am incredibly grateful to have formed such strong bonds with both of these horses. While Max will always be my heart horse, my experiences with Romeo have taught me so much, and my appreciation for him continues to grow. Although I enjoy competing and always working to improve, my love for this sport ultimately comes down to the horses. Riding has taught me discipline, patience, integrity, and the determination to keep trying again and again. I am truly grateful to be an equestrian, and I hope to continue riding for the rest of my life.
